George B. Armistead

George B. Armistead is the principal attorney of the West Virginia law firm of Baker & Armistead, PLLC, and concentrates his practice on the representation of plaintiffs injured in auto and trucking accidents, harmed due to defective products, or pursuing wrongful death suits following the loss of a loved one. Mr. Armistead is an active member of the West Virginia legal community, and has been appointed to numerous leadership positions in his long career. From 1977-1982, he served as an Assistant Prosecuting Attorney, while from 1983-1989 he served as a City Attorney for the town of Star City. Mr. Armistead has also served as a City Attorney for the city of Westover. Mr. Armistead is a former Member of the Board of Directors (1989-1995) and a former Chairman of the Board (1993) for the Morgantown Area Chamber of Commerce. He has been appointed to serve as Discovery Commissioner for the Circuit Court of Monongalia County, and as Fiduciary Commissioner for the Monongalia County Commission. Mr. Armistead is also a former President of the Monongalia County Bar Association. He is a graduate of the National Institute of Trial Advocacy Advanced Trial Advocacy Course and has been a Volunteer Mediator to the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of West Virginia.

A native of Baltimore, Maryland, Mr. Armistead earned his Bachelor's from West Virginia University and his Juris Doctor from West Virginia University School of Law. He is a member of international legal fraternity Phi Delta Phi and was admitted to the West Virginia Bar in 1976.
